The CliffordMoss team is especially thankful this Holiday Season for our awesome clients and their amazing stories, which remind us everyday why we love the work we do and why together we're better. Here are highlights from 2014:

  • Public Schools & Colleges: Despite a low voter turnout across the state on November 4th, happily, all CliffordMoss clients passed their measures. We are thrilled to congratulate Arvin Union School District ($15M bond), Carpinteria Unified ($90M bond), Escondido Union ESD ($182M bond), Hayward Unified ($229M bond), Lake Tahoe Community College District ($55M bond), Murrieta Valley Unified ($98M bond), Salinas Union High School District ($128M bond), Santa Clara Unified ($419M bond), and Santa Maria-Bonita ESD ($45 M bond) on their well deserved wins. This past June, we also celebrated with Cambrian Union ESD ($39 M bond) and Woodside ESD ($13.5 M bond) on passing their local measures.

  • Transportation: We are so proud of this November’s biggest ballot measure win in Alameda County, Measure BB, because, as we said in the campaign, “It’s that important!”  A countywide transportation measure is a complex undertaking.  With Measure BB, nearly 1 million voters were eligible to vote.   Our strategy employed millions of focused BB impressions through mail, TV, radio, and social media, stakeholder connections, phone and door-to-door contacts, sign blasts, and in the ultimate GOTV finale, 115,000 door hangers posted and 80,000 calls to voters in the final hours of the campaign to ensure success on Election Day. End result: 71%YES - nearly a quarter of a million YES votes!  If you know someone who needs a transportation measure, send them our way!

  • Healthcare: Congratulations to our 2014 CM healthcare clients:  Bear Valley Community Healthcare District in southern California’s Big Bear mountain resort, where a small but mighty volunteer army renewed Measure F, a parcel tax, earning a fantastic 80.56% YES vote to keep their mountain hospital open; Grossmont Healthcare District, owner/operator of one of California’s busiest and most successful community hospitals, Grossmont Hospital in eastern San Diego County, passed Proposition H with a whopping 86.68% YES vote, extending its successful operating partnership with nationally recognized Sharp Healthcare;  and The Children’s Partnership, sponsor of the “All In” statewide campaign helping California’s 10,000 schools better connect students, families, school employees and others in the education community to health coverage through Covered California and Medi-Cal.

  • Candidates: It was our great privilege to guide to victory three outstanding candidates this fall – people who will serve with honor, vision, intelligence and passion in their chosen elected roles:  Hon. Bill Quirk in AD20, now entering his 2nd term in the California Assembly; Hon. Karen Monroe, County Superintendent of Schools Elect, Alameda County; and Hon. Annie Campbell Washington, Oakland City Council Member, District 4.  We are excited about watching these leaders light the way for public policy progress in 2015 and beyond.

We look forward to the progression of these spectacular success stories and many more as the New Year unfolds. Until then, may your Holidays be bright and filled with stories that inspire!
